Friday Photo Fun

This is my first time doing Fix-It Friday over at iheartfaces! Since I'm always playing in Photoshop anyway I decided to give it a try! I'm a little intimated by other entries but it's all for good fun! Plus I will only learn by challenging myself!

Here is the original photo:

I used Photoshop Elements 8. I didn't write down how my edits, sorry.
She is so beautiful and I had fun fixing up the photo!

So what do you think? I'd love any feedback- good and helpful ;)

Goorrrgeeous! I love the color in the close up! Do you use any tutorials or anything or do you just figure it out as you go? I just got PSE 9 and am completely dumbfounded as to how to do anything with it, ha!

I love the first one. Nice crop. My feedback would have been to darken down and/or blur the leaves on the left a little bit. Maybe also put more of a yellow hue in the greens, since the green tones look much cooler than she does right now. Right now they're distracting the eye from her face.

Also you picked up a little bit of noise when you sharpened the image, it looks like, around the edges of her coat especially. Using a noise reduction program might help the pop and get rid of that little bit of ghosting around the edge.

The B&W is great although my personal taste is to have more contrast in B&Ws. I like my blacks black. But that's a personal preference.

Overall, great job!

I can tell you really tried and since you asked for feedback and seem to really want it, I'll give it.

Overall you did a nice job! I agree with what MsRantyPants said. Plus I would suggest not over-brightening the image. I think you "clipped" some spots on her face.
