15 Week Bumpdate

15 weeks (2) copy

How Far Along: 15 weeks, 2 days
Baby: Is the size of an ORANGE
Total Weight Gained: I had an OB appt today- according to them I am -3.
Sleep: I'm up anywhere between 2 to 4 times a night to pee, and having a lot of crazy dreams, but still getting good sleep.
Maternity Clothes: I bought some! I bought a pair of jeans, capri's, and leggings. Although my bump is still pretty little they are SO much more comfortable around the abdomen.  I was getting tired of tying a hair tie around the buttons of my pants, and having them press against me.
Best Moment of the Week: Cleaning out our guest room! It's all ready to paint now!!
Food Cravings/Aversions: Love fruits (apples, plums, & oranges are my fav's). Also loving noodles. Still disliking full slabs of meat.
Symptoms: I think I have almost all of energy back now! Still getting sick every few mornings :/  Days are pretty good though and my nights have gotten so much better, thanks to Pepcid!! I'm able to eat most of my dinner now, enjoy it, and not feel miserable after! A big relief.
Movement: I felt flutters!! I was laying in bed one morning, just thinking. And then all the sudden I thought.. wait.. what was that? 20 seconds later it happened again and I just knew it was my little bean kicking! It felt like tiny popcorns popping :) I felt it three times.  And then last night (after a tiny bowl of chocolate chip cookies & vanilla bean ice cream) I was sitting on the couch and felt flutters again. I'm seriously in shock that I can feel my baby already!!
Gender: We find out on APRIL 28th at 19 1/2 weeks.
What I miss: Cold cuts. Cold cuts. Cold cuts.
What I'm looking forward to: Hitting 16 weeks/4 months!
Weekly Wisdom: Pepcid works very well. And chewing gum also helps!
Milestones: The bump is getting firmer by the day and the uterus has moved up quite a bit! Baby can now sense light (and shy away from it) and can wiggle his/her fingers and toes :)

Here's what we look like at 15 weeks, according to BabyCenter :)

Second 'Photoshoot'

My sister asked me if I could take photos of her family while we were in Cancun; I was happy to do so.  I love challenging myself with the camera and Photoshop.  I learn something new each time and that's the only way to improve! Here was my first 'photoshoot'!

Here are some of my favorites so far. I'm still editing a few more!

14 Week Bumpdate

14weeks copy

Photo Notes: 1. It is extremely hard to do these pics. I can never see where I'm aiming!  2.  I need a self timer and tripod... or Hub to just do them!  3. Disregard the pajamas :)

How Far Along: 14 weeks!
Total Weight Gained: None!
Sleep: Is the same- good except getting up three times a night to pee!
Best Moment of the Week: Seeing our baby moving about and kick me (even though I can't feel him/her yet) I'm still in awe!
Food Cravings: No real strong cravings yet. I'm still loving fruits & salads. And Rita's...It may become my downfall all summer! (If you've never been to one I suggest you find the closest location, asap).
Food Aversions: Meat. The thought of hamburgers & hotdogs makes me queasy. And, still, large pieces of chicken/steak/etc. gross me out.
Symptoms: Fatigue is finally going down!! But I still have to keep up with morning sickness by taking Zofran everyday. And nights are just awful.. I feel so full it's uncomfortable (I know I have a long road ahead).
Hubby's Symptoms: He always has one of my symptoms! I swear it's something new every week ;)
Movement: None that I can feel yet! I can't wait for that day though.
Gender: No idea!
What I miss: Cold cuts. Especially turkey. It's just not the same heated/toasted.
What I'm looking forward to: Hitting 16 weeks/4 months... 2 weeks to go!
Weekly Wisdom: Tums! Though I may switch to Pepcid... heard it's better for indigestion.
Milestones: Officially out of the first trimester!!! Here's to a great second! Baby is now able to squint, frown, pee, and suck his/her thumb!

So I did three out of the five this week :)

CHAIR- I love how peaceful this one is. It really captured the moment.
Delight

IMPERFECTION- Not my nephew of course! I had my settings wrong and it came out way to bright. But a little Photoshop-ing helps makes anything look better, right?

I posted this early to also participate in LEM's photo challenge this week: Anything

Our Sweetness!

Today we got to see our little bean!! There are no words to describe how amazing it was. Baby looks perfect! Heartbeat was at 164 and baby is measuring right on schedule! He/she was kicking, turning, opening/closing its mouth, and moving its arms! The tech we had was absolutely awesome and let us watch the baby move all about. She ended up giving us SIXTEEN photos! I love all of them but here are my three favorites!

The First Appointment

February 4th 2011 @ 9am

My first appointment went great. I was nervous, excited, and so anxious to finally get my doctor's confirmation. But my mind raced with thoughts...What if they couldn't find anything? What if I really wasn't pregnant? What if something was wrong? My awesome doctor immediately gave me an ultrasound even though he said they usually do all the other boring stuff first. It seemed to be taking him awhile to find the baby, which made me even more nervous as I tried to look myself. Finally (seemed like an eternity but I'm sure it was really less than a minute) he showed my husband and I the tiny flickering heartbeat of our little bean and we were in awe. Baby measured 7 1/2 weeks and everything looked great!

The only bad part of the appointment was having to give five vials of blood. The nurse was really great but it felt like that needle was in my arm forever. As she was filling the the third tube Hubby said “wow how much do you have to take?” (Insert queasiness). It's not the little bit of pain that gets me, but I don't do well overall with blood and medical stuff.  I felt fine immediately after she was done and thought whew I winged this one. Nope, I sure didn't.  A minute later I was faint, hot, pale, and slightly dizzy. I was ready to pass out. The nurse quickly opened the windows (on a 30 degree morning) and brought me a coke and crackers. I thanked her a bunch for acting quickly for me. It took me five minutes or so but I regained myself and finally made it out to scheduling! I guess my body just can't handle all that. It's not the first time this has happened to me so I'm getting better at overcoming it faster. I just wish it wouldn't happen!  I feel like a wuss :)

Anyway... Here we are!
The happy soon to be parents :)

Telling Husband!

I never planned how I would tell my husband if I were to get pregnant. I didn't want to get too far ahead of myself.  Almost as if I would jinx myself.  So as I sat at work that day (very long day) I schemed up how I would give him the news.  I decided I would wrap up the positive test in a huge box wrapped with Christmas paper and say “Your last Christmas present finally came in” since it was only a week and a half past Christmas. He wouldn't be expecting it; he did not know I would be testing and so early. So that's what I did!

Jan4th (7)

Jan4th (9)
Sorry if you're tired of seeing my pee stick. :)

I left it on the living room floor. He came home from work extra late that night and it was killing me not to shout it out when he walked in.  But I played it smooth.  He walked by the wrapped gift and said “what's this?” and I gave him the line “your last Christmas present finally came in”.  He didn't open it right away- he proceeded to unpack from work and get his dinner out. Seriously? Couldn't he just rip it open already?!  Even though I was so excited, I was also so ready for bed (one of my earliest and worst symptoms- exhaustion) so I  asked if he wanted to open his present.  He said yes, pondered around another minute, and finally started unwrapping.  My heart started racing.  He opened the big box and picked through the tons of green and red tissue paper inside and then... “WOW! … you're pregnant?!” I looked into his eyes, wide open with excited, and exclaimed “YES!  …You're going to be a Daddy!”  We hugged and kissed then talked for hours about anything and everything pregnancy and baby related before I fell asleep. It was such a great day, and such a perfect moment.  I'll never forget any of it.

Up Next: First Appointment!

I would like to say a big THANK YOU to all of you who left congratulatory comments and kind words! You're all awesome!!

A New Chapter!

January 4th 2011

A day I will always remember.

I laid in bed, debating.

I had done it numerous times before.

It really wasn't a big deal.

When I finally rolled out of bed I decided I would give it a go.

I was sure it was way too early regardless- but I just wanted to check.

So I did. And I waited. Three whole minutes.

I turned on the shower water and got ready to hop in.

It took forever, the verdict.

I look back, one last glance. And I nearly fell to the floor.

IT SAID YES+

NO WAY! Are you kidding me?! Is this thing is seriously telling me, yes, I am pregnant?!

I looked again-still YES+.

I frantically called my sister who knew we were 'trying'. All I know is I kept saying “It says YES, It says YES” and my sister screaming in the phone with excitement.  I had always thought I would tell my husband first, and keep it between us for a little bit, but I had to tell someone and it wasn't the right timing to tell hubby!! (he was still in bed!). After I got off the phone with her I tried taking a picture of it with my cell phone. This is a very hard task. It took me so long to do! Then my sister called back and said my (three year old) nephew asked “Is Ka ka (my nickname) going to have a baby?” My sister said it was so weird because she never said my name, baby, pregnant, or anything!  Meanwhile the shower is still running. Twenty minutes later I finally get in, only to wash half my body before realizing I was using hair conditioner. It was the most exciting and scariest moment of my life. Even though we had been planning, wanting, wishing, hoping, I couldn't believe it actually happened.

I am pregnant!! We are expecting our first bundle of joy September 19th.
